Platform 9 3/4 - Columnar Cactus Clone

The Platform 9 3/4 is a botanical marvel for the dedicated collector, celebrated for its extraordinary “melty” monstrose form. This architectural specimen breaks all rules of traditional cactus symmetry — featuring irregular, lumpy ribs and a striking emerald-green skin that transforms from a simple column into a living piece of abstract art as it matures.

About the Plant

Platform 9 3/4 is a distinct monstrose variety whose “funky” appearance results from a genetic mutation causing irregular rib development. Parent species are native to the high-altitude Andes of South America, lending surprising cold hardiness.

• Unique Features: Displays “rib-skipping” — vertical ribs become irregular, lumpy, or “melted” in appearance unlike any standard columnar cactus.
• Growth Habit: Grows as a columnar specimen and can produce offset pups from the top or sides that continue the irregular monstrose form.
• Care: Thrives in bright direct sunlight with a mineral-heavy, well-draining mix. Drought-tolerant — water only when soil is completely dry.
• Origin: High-altitude Andean genetics; hardy to short periods of cold.
