Huancabamba - Sacred Succulents - This is a true pachanoi of value representative of ceremonial Pachanoi from N. Peru. Appearance: This cultivar is known for its fast growth and its distinctive deep green color
[1]. It has multiple ribs with short spines that are usually yellow or brown
[2].Origin: The origin of this cultivar is unknown, but it's thought to have originated from Huancabamba, Peru.
Care: Like most cacti, cv. SS Huancabamba prefers well-draining soil and full sun. It's important to avoid overwatering as this can lead to root rot.
Kimnach comes from the Huntington Botanical Garden and is named after Myron Kimnach who was the director for a period of time. He collected the clone on the side of the road from Cajamarca to Namora in Peru in the 80's. (was assigned the collection number HBG 53196). Very glaucus and blue with short spines (max 2CM) Flowers are white and covered in brown hairs.
