This hybrid succulent, developed by Kelly Griffin, is known for its festive colors. Here are some key characteristics and care requirements for the 'Christmas Sleigh' aloe:

Characteristics

  • Foliage: The leaves are dark green to blue-green with prominent, rubbery red or hot pink teeth (spikes) along the margins and red bumps down the middle.
  • Size: It is a compact plant, typically growing to a mature size of about 4 to 6 inches tall and 5 to 8 inches wide.
  • Flowers: It produces tubular, coral, or reddish-pink flowers on tall stems, typically blooming in the spring season.
  • Growth Habit: It grows in a compact, star-like rosette pattern and is a fast-growing hybrid compared to many other aloes.

Care Requirements

  • Light: It thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate full sun when properly acclimated, which helps maintain its vibrant red and blue coloration.
  • Watering: Like most succulents, it is drought-tolerant. Use the "soak and dry" method, watering deeply but allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
  • Soil: A well-draining cactus and succulent potting mix is essential, often amended with perlite or pumice.
  • Hardiness: It is hardy in USDA zones 9b to 11b and is sensitive to frost, so it should be protected from freezing temperatures

There is another aloe called ALOE OIK which this could be as well. I am not quite sure because they look so close in some instances. If you have any information I am all ears. send comments to email@sanpedrodepot.com
