Euphorbia lactea cristata – Crested Elkhorn Euphorbia

Euphorbia lactea cristata, the Crested Elkhorn Euphorbia, is one of the most visually dramatic succulent forms available. A fascinating mutation causes the normally columnar growth to fan out into a spectacular, brain-like wave of undulating green and white-mottled tissue. Each specimen is a completely unique, one-of-a-kind living sculpture.

These plants are grown on their own roots — not grafted — making them more stable, longer-lived, and more desirable for serious collectors. Available in 6" sq pot, 8" sq pot, and custom pot options.

Care Guide

• Light: Bright, indirect to direct light; 4–6 hours daily. Avoid intense midday sun on the crest to prevent scarring.
• Water: Soak and dry — allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce in winter.
• Soil: Fast-draining mineral cactus mix with high grit content.
• Temperature: USDA Zones 10–11; protect from frost and cold drafts.
• Toxicity: Milky latex sap is toxic and a skin/eye irritant — always wear gloves when handling.
